crocuses are a delight in early spring as they break through the snow and frost and jeanne d’arc is no exception. her glossy white petals are contrasted by a bright yellow stamen with a slight tint of purple that proudly announce the start of spring. plant in a mass for a cheery display and be rewarded with more blooms next spring as bulbs multiply rapidly year to year.

jeanne d’arc is sold in packs of 10 for fall planting.

planting instructions: 

1. choose an area with partial to full sun that has good drainage.

2. dig a hole 4-6 inches deep and mix granular fertilizer with soil at the bottom of the hole. crocus bulbs should be planted 2-3” below the soil line.

3. place bulbs 2-3 inches apart with points facing upward, and then gently pack the soil over the bulb.

4. water once and then not again till spring.
